PEARLS OF SAIMAA: TAR STEAM CRUISE AND IMATRA STATE HOTEL

On this trip, we will experience Saimaa's most breathtaking scenery aboard an authentic tar steamship, marvel at the forces of nature at Kummakivi, and stay overnight in the historic Imatra State Hotel. Sunday is crowned by a relaxing sauna raft cruise on the Vuoksi River.

DAY 1. From the waves of S/S Wenno to castle atmosphere

• 10:30 The journey begins. Bus transfer departs from outside Imatra State Hotel.
• 12:00 We arrive at Puumala harbor. We board the historic tar steamship S/S Wenno. During the cruise, we admire the Saimaa archipelago and enjoy a delicious lunch in the ship's atmosphere.
• 14:00 The cruise ends and the journey continues by bus towards Ruokolahti.
• 14:45 Stop at the famous Kummakivi. From the bus, there is an easy walk of about half a kilometer to this geological wonder – a massive glacial erratic balancing on top of a rock mound, defying gravity.
• 16:00 Return to the bus and journey towards Imatra.
• 17:00 Check-in at the magnificent Imatra State Hotel. Rooms are located on the grand castle side. Time to settle in and enjoy the unique milieu of the "Castle".
• 19:00 Dinner at the hotel restaurant.

DAY 2. Relaxation along the Vuoksi River

• 08:00–09:30 Generous breakfast at the hotel.
• 10:00 Hotel check-out. Luggage will be stored at the hotel. Led by our guide, we head out for a brisk walk towards the shores of the Vuoksi River (walking distance approx. 1.3 km).
• 10:30 An experiential sauna raft cruise on the Vuoksi River. During the cruise, there is an opportunity to enjoy the sauna and swim while taking in the views.
• At extra cost: Opportunity to try memorable drysuit floating in the current.
• 12:30 The sauna raft docks at the shore of Ravintola Sula.
• 12:45 Group lunch at Ravintola Sula.
• 13:40 Transfer to Imatra railway station.
• 14:00 Train to Helsinki departs.
